The DefaultHost Object

CCI Metadata

Applications typically use Microsoft.Cci.PeReader.DefaultHost as the host object unless they have special requirements. DefaultHost inherits from Microsoft.Cci.MetadataReaderHost and is implemented as a nested class in the Microsoft.Cci.PeReader class. DefaultHost has the following characteristics:
  • It assumes that assemblies are identified by a file path on the hard drive.
  • It specifies unification, which directs .NET to use the most recent mscorlib.dll version.
If your application has different requirements, you must implement a custom host. For details, see Hosts.
